Environmental factors (such as ultraviolet rays, pollution, smoking, bad dietary habits) and internal ones (stress, fatigue, DNA coding) cause the progressive degeneration of collagen and elastin fibers. The result is a skin with unwanted marks. Laser resurfacing is the treatment of superficial skin lesions by the use of special ablative medical Lasers.
What can be treated?
- Fine and deeper wrinkles.
- Smokers’ wrinkles (around the mouth).
- Periauricular wrinkles.
- Eyelids-forehead wrinkles.
- Acne or chickenpox scars.
- Post-traumatic and post surgical scars.
- Rhinophyma.
- Nevi (moles), warts
Classic Surgical Procedures
By the use of the Laser device, the superficial layers of the skin are being removed (ablated) whereas in the same time heat is being conducted to deeper layers. This leads to collagen and elastin remodeling and the production of new epidermis. This result can not be achieved by classic surgical procedures (e.g. face-lift).
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Recovery is painless and one only feels a mild “stretching” across the skin for a few days. No hospital stay is required. About a week later one can return to everyday activities having a new, shiny face.
